Winchester Community Choir

2 November 2023

Dear Friend of Winchester Community Choir,

We’re not anticipating arctic conditions, but our poster snowman was irresistible as the mascot for our mid-winter concert on Tuesday 5 December. Fear not, The United Church is a warm and inviting venue, and you’re very welcome to join us.

Carolyn Robson, our Music Director, has a busy December with four other concerts planned by her Hampshire choirs. See all the details below.

And if you would like a freebie, come to the Cathedral Inner Close at 5:00pm on Tuesday 28 November for our half-hour slot on the Christmas Market performance stage. Dress up warm. It's outdoors and it might be brrrrrrr......

Carolyn writes, 'Our programme of songs for Yule is rooted in the English folk tradition but ranges far and wide. You’ll hear the oldest secular song written down in the English language from the 13 century and a modern choral love song by a Canadian composer of film music. There’ll be carols because it’s Christmas and songs about trees (because we like them)’.

Ticket sales for the Winchester concert benefit the Woodland Trust and in Alton we're supporting the community theatre. You can get tickets by clicking these buttons...
