Conference Panel:
Supporting diverse voices in languages education
We are pleased to announce that Louisa Willoughby, Associate Professor in Linguistics at Monash University, will join the conference opening panel for a discussion on supporting diverse voices in languages education. Dr Willoughby has an abiding interest in the relationship between language, identity and social cohesion and the ways that people's attitudes about languages contribute to broader inclusion and exclusion. Much of her recent work looks at Deaf sign language users, but she also has a strong interest in migrant languages, especially for small and newly-arrived migrant groups.

In his plenary address, Professor Emeritus Joe Lo Bianco will challenge us to be at the forefront of the debate about machine/human communication and to lead the reconceptualisation of languages education.
MLTAV Conference attendees can stay in comfortable accommodation at the Catholic Leadership Centre, the conference venue. Accommodation for conference attendees is $160/night, including breakfast and a car space.
