Welcome Home! Landmark Specialist Disability Accommodation Opens in Gorokan
Last month, we proudly celebrated the official launch of the new state-of-the-art Casa Capace residences in Gorokan.
Designed by Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provider Casa Capace, the development will enable us to provide Supported Independent Living (SIL) for six individuals in two High Physical Support, three-bedroom villas.

New Resident Profile: Michael Laing
To celebrate the opening of the new Casa Capace accommodation in Gorokan, we found out more about one of the venue's new residents: 42-year-old Michael (Mike) Laing.
While the move will be an adjustment, Mike’s family feel confident in trusting Casa Capace and Coastlink to take care of him in the best way possible.
As Mike’s mum, Kerry, says: “Knowing Mike is living here gives me peace of mind … Most of us get to choose where we want to live, and now I feel like Mike truly has another home that we would have chosen for him, rather than living somewhere just because that is what is available to him.”

Recent Adventures With Our Coastlinkers
Hip, HOP, Hooray
Our Coastlinkers took part in so many brilliant activities over the recent school holidays as part of our Holiday Options Program (HOP). They enjoyed decorating cookies, doing painting and craft, visiting the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre, and more.

Our Fave Catch? Big Smiles!
Our Girls Group enjoyed a spot of fishing on a picture-perfect day. Is there any better way to spend a few hours than by the water with a reel in hand?

Enjoying the Esplanade
Coastlinker Luke was all smiles as he soaked up the sights and sounds of the sunny Esplanade on his recent stay in Warners Bay.

Taking to the High Seas
Along with Support Worker Brianna, Coastlinker Rob had a brilliant time on his recent P&O Cruise. Starting out in Sydney, their three-day adventure took them up the coast and back again, and it was Rob's first time away from the Ability SDA apartments since he moved in three years ago.

A Great Day in Norah Head
Kevin and Julie enjoyed a stunning day out at Norah Head Lighthouse.
Did you know that the Lighthouse was built from 1901 to 1903 to protect ships that were travelling between Sydney and Newcastle with vital cargo and passengers?

A Message From Our Acting CEO
Hi everyone,
It's been a really busy few months in our organisation, with one personal highlight being the opening of the new Casa Capace residences in Gorokan.
I have been involved with this landmark project since its inception, and together with my colleagues, I am pleased to have been able to play a role in delivering homes of this calibre for our local residents.
It was also wonderful to see the Coastlink team coming together to help get the accommodation ready for its opening day. Whether our staff were assembling flat-pack furniture, cleaning or adding to those final finishing touches, it's this kind of teamwork that really does make the dream work!
Lastly, I'd like to extend my thanks to our Coastlink staff, our clients and their families for supporting me in my current role as Acting CEO, while we carry out the search for a leader who will guide us into this next exciting chapter for our organisation.
