SmartFox Spotlight - Professor April Kemp and Professor Tim Butler
Our SmartFox Professor Spotlight this month is - April Kemp, Sales Program Coordinator | Assistant Professor of Marketing and Tim Butler, Sales and Marketing Professor at Southeastern Louisiana University, LA, College of Business.
In our interview with April and Tim, they shared with us how they became a team through their mutual interest in teaching hands-on technical skills to their professional sales career students. Tim noted, "We both agree that technology is important in sales and in all professions today. When talking with our corporate sponsors, the sales professionals have recommended an increase in training for our students in various sales technologies, particularly when it comes to Salesforce CRM".
At Southeastern Louisiana University, students in their Sales Leadership courses, use real-life sales tactics through a competition to sell sponsorships and teams to play in a golf tournament. There are individual student quotas and team quotas tied to their grades.
April shared with us, "Once we heard about SmartFox Technologies and the opportunity to utilize Salesforce CRM, it was a no-brainer for us." She further noted, "These students brought in $45,000 in revenue last year, but there is no telling how much the teams will bring in this year with the ability to use Salesforce and the team leaders being able to use the AI forecasting capabilities SmartFox Prime offers".
Congratulations April and Tim. Your strategy for using our university program to teach real-life sales competitions exemplifies our mission to position graduating business students with more job opportunities.
