All tickets are sold through Secret Party, and you'll need an invite to purchase one. To find your invite, search for "Something Else 2023" in your inbox for an email from [email protected]. Read our Ticketing page for more info.

Survival Guide

Whether you're a nearly-fossilized veteran of past events or a new hatchling, be sure to read our Survival Guide. Invite Your Friends

What makes a good party a better party? More dino friends! 🦖🦕

We walk the line between a private and public event and love it when you invite your friends! If you've had a good time with us, you'll be able to tell who's going to have a good time and improve the event for others: your invitation allows you to invite up to 4 friends who can then invite 4 more each. 

You'll have to log in to Secret Party to do this, then enter their first name, last name, and email address. Please reach out if you need more invites—maybe your whole theme camp?

Volunteer

We throw this event together because we like the event. We have an org and send this newsletter to make the event as fun as it is! That's the goal. How does that work? People volunteer the work. From the person writing this to the person checking you in at the gate and the person playing tunes by the lake, people pitching in make this event fun.

Get involved and make the party you want to see in the world!

Have you volunteered with us before? This year we're going to try discounting your ticket before the event, skipping the cumbersome post-event reimbursement process. That should make your life easier and let you keep your money in your freaky dino pocket. New volunteers and folks who missed some shifts will still need to buy a ticket up front and get reimbursed after the event. Our friendly volunteers will be happy to discuss details once you submit the form linked below, or learn more on our Volunteer page.

This party is only as fun as YOU make it, and we're here to help make your creativity happen. Use this form so we can help you with power, transport, setup and strike, tickets, and budget. Help us help you realize your wildest dreams ✨

If you need some inspiration: highlights from years past include Dino Karaoke, a to-scale Solar System, all sorts of LED art, a black-and-white movie theater, a snail cave, and clay dinosaur sculpting—what silly thing do YOU want to bring?

As with volunteers, DJs and musicians are eligible for discounted or free tickets based on the number of slots they sign up for — our Senior Director of West Coast Entertainment will discuss details with you after you fill out the form linked above.

Bring food!

Food is good and everyone likes it. Brunch, dinner, and late night snacking are all part of the delight. We empower volunteers to make meals, using budget from tickets and the commercial kitchen onsite, then all dinos share in the bounty!

Lead a meal by volunteering, figuring out a plan that can scale and trapping it out onsite! Previous winners include "After School Special" and "Breakfast for Dinner"
