Two new Erasmus+ Teacher Academies projects, in which European Schoolnet is actively involved, launch this week! Both ContinueUP and 21st century European Teachers are aimed to promote excellence in teacher education in Europe.

The DSA sets out clear due diligence obligations for online platforms and other online intermediaries. The Better Internet for Kids (BIK) Team has worked on a user-friendly factsheet which collects and summarises, in a few pages, the main content of the articles of the DSA that focus specifically on the protection of children and young people online. 

The factsheet was launched at a DSA stakeholder event in June 2023. You can access the full text of the DSA here (in all official EU languages).

Our MenSi project was highlighted by the European Commission as an example of a successful project in the field of education. MenSi aimed to investigate the theory and practice of school-to-school mentoring; create and animate a network of over 100 Mentor and Mentee Schools; analyse the effectiveness of whole-school mentoring approaches; offer evidence-based recommendations and guidelines and create a community of practice and professional development opportunities. Throughout September, October and November, the Future Classroom Lab is hosting a number of webinars targeted at teachers, school leaders and other education stakeholders which will explore the role of technology in enabling innovative teaching and learning models. As part of the Agile EDU project, we have published a literature review on the topic of data in education. It focuses on defining key concepts, challenges, enablers and open questions that can directly inform policymaking and action and frame the data collection of the project. 

The aim of the Teach Europe project is to enrich the K12 pedagogical offer on the topics of active citizenship and the EU and thus encourage active and confident participation in the 2024 European Elections. It is led by a 12-member teacher taskforce which will develop 12 learning scenarios that will support educators across Europe to discuss the EU with their students.
