Father in heaven, at the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River You proclaimed Him Your beloved Son and anointed Him with the Holy Spirit. Make all who are baptized in His name faithful in their calling as Your children and inheritors with Him of everlasting life; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Epiphany Day Prayer and Fellowship

On Epiphany Day, Friday January 6th, we will hold Evening Prayer at 6:30pm. After the service we will enjoy fellowship over hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and treats in the lobby. If weather permits we will have marshmallows and s'mores available around a firepit in the Prayer Garden. Feel free to bring a favorite treat to share and celebrate the close of the Christmas season and the beginning of Epiphany.

Pastor's Sunday Bible Study

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord. Pastor Estes' Bible Study will discuss the significance of this feast and dig deeper into the comfort that Christ's baptism imparts to us. Join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.

Wednesday Bible Studies

The Women's Bible Study will meet on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM and the Evening Bible Study will meet at 5:00 PM resuming on January 11th.

Church Ladies' Dinner

The Church Ladies will meet for dinner at 6 PM on Monday, January 16 at Ginza Asian Bistro (9420 Shelbyville Road).

6th-12th graders, come hang out with Lutheran youth from all over Kentuckiana for a night of games, Bible study, indoor swimming and basketball, campfire songs, snacks, and more! The fun goes all night long, but gender-specific resting areas will also be available. Register for free at kluthyouth.com.

Founders' Day: Volunteers Needed

What if your pastor was your school teacher? What if you got to take awesome trips to Colorado and the East Coast with Pastor Peters and the youth group? What was Sunday school and Confirmation like when your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were kids? We're asking these questions, and more, as we explore the history of Christian education at Concordia on Founders Day this coming February. Right now we're interviewing longtime members about their experiences growing up at Concordia, and we need your help! We're looking for people to conduct interviews (all ages are welcome, but we'll prioritize kids and youth). We'll provide the questions and video record the interview; you'll ask the questions and get to know your church family better!

We need interviewers at 5:30pm this Friday, January 6, 11:30am on Sunday, January 15, and more dates to come. Please contact Grace Conrad ([email protected]) if you're interested in helping.
