ISS 325: War and Revolution - THE VIETNAM WAR |
Enrollments Open for Summer 2023 |
Online - Second Summer Session
What are revolutions, and why do they happen? What is the relationship between revolution and war? How have revolution and war shaped the modern world? ISS 325 addresses these core questions in the social sciences through the case of Vietnam, the site of one of modern history's most consequential revolutions and wars. It approaches the subject through both Vietnamese and American perspectives, and from many angles of vision: military, diplomatic, political, social, and cultural. To do so, it engages with scholarship from a range of social scientific disciplines, primary textual and visual sources from the war era, and documentaries and films.
