I'm writing today to share an upcoming program I will be offering and that I hope may be of interest to you. It's called "Compassionate Self-Care ~ Foundations". To learn more about this topic you can visit my website here or watch this video that I recorded during a free webinar I offered last month.
The program will be starting on Tuesday, May 2nd, from 6-8pm ET and will consist of 8 weekly sessions. The last session will be June 20.
NOTE: This is a pilot session and I will offer it on a donation basis. What matters the most to me is your sincere motivation to participate with an open heart and open mind and to offer feedback along the way so that I can shape up future offerings. The registration form includes a few intake questions which will help me understand how to best support you.
Program Overview
Please keep in mind this is a pilot session, and therefore the exact outline could be slightly adjusted based on the group's needs and what we discover along the way. But this is the general plan I have in mind:
- Session 1: Introduction & Opening Circle
- Session 2: Creating an Empathic Container (NVC refresher)
- Session 3: Exploring Body Messages / Body Stories
- Session 4: Reclaim Health: Intro to Health At Every Size
- Session 5: Principles of Intuitive Self-Care
- Session 6: From Self-Criticism to Self-Compassion
- Session 7: Exploring Beauty and Body Image Challenges
- Session 8: Closing Circle & Ideas to Build Community
As you can imagine, many of these topics are vast and could take an entire program (and possibly a lifetime) to be explored. This will be an introduction and a first taste of what is possible. In the future, I may expand and create opportunities to deepen each topic individually.
Each session will include an introduction to the concept and practice/sharing both in breakouts and the large group. For the time in between sessions, I plan to offer:
- a suggested reading
- a journaling prompt
- a practice to try, related to the topic
Who's this program for
I am offering this program with the hope of supporting people who have a history of struggling with their weight, body image, relationship with food and so on. People who are tired of the endless cycles of dieting, punishing exercise, control and shame and are ready to explore a different way of caring for themselves, grounded in self-compassion and kindness.
