Back in my days in London and France, encountering a bottle of Brice on the shelves or a restaurant's wine list always filled me with excitement. Most of the time, I couldn't resist picking up a bottle.
This background is important to understand just how thrilled I am now to be representing Domaine des Ardoisières here in the Czech Republic.

Brice’s wines are highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs alike, and are considered among the best examples of natural wine produced in the Savoie region.
Savoie ... the alpine wonder, nestled in the mountainous beauty just south of Lac Léman and the Swiss border.

The winery was founded in 1998 by Michel Grisard (the visionary winemaker behind Prieuré St-Christoph), who was driven by a passion for winemaking and a desire to revive the ancient vineyards of the region. Since 2005, the estate is now run by Brice Ormont and his team, who are dedicated to producing wines that are authentic and true to their origins.

The vineyards are located on steep slopes at an altitude of up to 500 meters, which provides excellent exposure to the sun and cool mountain breezes. The soils are composed of slate, quartz, and limestone, which impart a distinct minerality to the wines.

The estate follows biodynamic principles, this allows Brice to cultivate the vines in harmony with nature, and to produce wines that are truly unique and expressive.
Brice is focused on minimal intervention, with a goal of allowing the natural character of the grapes and the terroir to shine through in the final product.

From the slopes of Saint Pierre de Soucy, composed of marls, shales, clays and limestones. A very complex terroir that allows this wine to be very accessible from its youth.
9 months in barrels to bring fatness and elegance.

From a small plot facing West and South on a soil of schist, marl and clay-limestone scree. Vinified in whole bunches, and in barrels for 9 months.

From terraced vines facing south (slope up to 60%), on poor and shallow soil of schist and loam.

Who's Dany?
Dany is a seasoned wine industry professional with an extensive background in French gastronomy and culture. Growing up in Cahors, the brithplace of Malbec, a region of the South-Western France, Dany's passion for wine was cultivated from an early age. Over the past two decades, he's worked in various top restaurants throughout France, gaining invaluable knowledge of the importance of 'Terroir'.
In 2011, Dany relocated to London and spent 10 years specializing in small independent wine producers who use minimum intervention and produce their wine with love and care. He honed his skills and expertise at some of the most renowned natural wine places in London, eventually establishing one of the city's best natural wine bars. His London journey culminated in a role as a sales manager for an independent importer.
In the summer of 2021, Dany has landed in the Czech Republic and has embarked on a new adventure - representing some of the winemakers he's come to know and love. Join him on this exciting journey and discover the world of natural wine through Dany's Wines.
