Notes from the Director                                             July 30, 2023

Dear students and families,

What an AMAZING two weeks of band camp we just had! We cannot say THANK YOU enough-- to these hardworking students, to our amazing staff, and to our army of parents who have sacrificed so much time and effort on behalf of these students. THANK YOU!

The hardest days of the year are over-- now we get ready for "normal" 4-7 PM rehearsals (they'll go by SO FAST!) as we get ready for school to start. We are excited to see everyone on Tuesday. Marching Band folks, there is a lot of information below-- please read them all and continue to pay attention to the new fridge-friendly calendar and the band website kellbands.org for answers to all your questions.

Need a reminder of the MB schedule? Click HERE or go to kellbands.org and click "calendar" at the top. You can also sync it to your phone!
Two more days until the first day of school!

Sincerely,
David Roth

REMIND LISTSERVE
If you still need to join the MB text listserve, text "@23kellmb2" to the number 81010.

FRIDGE FRIENDLY CALENDAR UPDATED
Please see the revised calendar. The date of the March-a-Thon / lock-in has changed! It's now November 4, not November 11.

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE
Season tickets are available to purchase!
Info at https://www.kellfootball.com/seasontickets. If you have any questions please email [email protected]

ABSENCE REQUEST FORMS ONLINE
Marching band students-- from here on out, all absence requests must be documented online. Please click the "absent request form 2023-24" at the bottom of kellbands.org if you know in advance that you might have to miss rehearsal. Birthday parties, work, family dinners, etc are not excused absences as every rehearsal is important to the entire group. As we learn a LOT each rehearsal, accumulated absences may result in students being unable to perform for safety reasons. Please use the Fridge Friendly calendar and plan accordingly!

HOW TO LOGIN TO CHARMS
Confused about how to login to your student account in Charms? Go to charmsoffice.com (or click "Charms" from the top of the band website). Login as a "parent/student/member." School code is kellband. Student area password is your Cobb County ID (lunch number). Once inside Charms you can see your student account balance, update your contact information, and much more!

Sponsorship

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Kell High School Band Community Sponsor!  Your support makes a wide range of programming possible. It takes a lot of revenue to travel with over 150+ band students, staff and volunteers. Our Kell Band Boosters Association, Inc. (KBBA)
budget provides our students with equipment, instruments, and uniforms to say nothing of the registration and entrance fees to events around the south throughout the year. KBBA also helps offset the cost for those students who cannot meet the dues requirement for our band program.
Studies have shown the social, emotional, and intellectual benefits of fine arts programs in secondary education and you could not find a finer program than the one at Kell High School.  Your sponsorship of the Kell Band will make a tremendous impact in helping us maintain the high
caliber programming we continue to offer. Proceeds, products, and services provided to the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Kell Band Boosters Association, Inc. (KBBA) are a tax-deductible donation.  We are incredibly grateful for our supportive community. If you or your company or corporation would like to become a band sponsor, please contact [email protected] . Below is a snapshot of our levels of sponsorship. We look forward to working with you to continue the tradition of excellence here at Kell Bands!

Thank You To Our Sponsors

Committee Fundraising Chair

KBBA is in search of a fundraising chair and committee members. If you enjoy coming up with creative ways to raise money and like talking to businesses about supporting our program, we need you! Please email co-president, Amanda Leonard at [email protected] if you are interested.
