21st Annual GRRAND Affair Live and Silent Auction
The 21st annual GRRAND Affair Live & Silent Auction will be held on Friday, November 10th at 6 PM! This is GRRAND’s largest fundraiser, and it is by far the best opportunity to visit with like-minded dog and rescue friends. Meet our GRRAND Golden four-footed ambassadors, enjoy the music and food, bid on auction items, and take your chance at the bourbon and wine pulls! You won’t be disappointed.
We are looking for silent and live auction items as well as large baskets to make this 21st GRRAND Affair the finest ever. View the link below to see how you can assist. If you can donate large baskets, reach out to Debra Weissrock at [email protected] as soon as possible because we are already working like Santa’s Elves creating themed silent auction baskets.
For more information about this event, how to get tickets, ideas for donation items, etc., visit the GRRAND Affair webpage through this link.

Spotlight: GRRAND's Socialization Team
This month, we would like to say a special thank-you to our socialization team at GRRAND Central Station! These volunteers are dedicated to keeping GRRAND dogs at the kennel happy and healthy, walking, sitting with, and even training the dogs so they'll be ready for their forever homes.
"Being hands on with the dogs and seeing them transform in front of your eyes is the most rewarding thing," said volunteer Sarah Gregory. "It’s more than just a ‘kennel’...GRRAND helps these dogs thrive and I am so grateful to be a part of it."

"I got involved with GRRAND because I do love dogs and what better way to fill some of my retirement time taking care of them," said Mark. "It has been a good experience and very rewarding."

Adoption and Foster Success: Loki
Loki was at GCS for 8 months and was close to 1 year old when he arrived. He was labeled dog reactive and a high flight risk, and no one had shown interest in him until Lisa Lanzet heard about him and decided to take Loki in as her first foster dog! Lisa put in a tremendous amount of effort to learn more about Loki and his behaviors, and also to prepare him for his forever home. After a month, someone was interested in Loki and took him home, but returned him to GRRAND after 2 months as he began to play too aggressively with their other dog. Loki lived with Lisa and her dog, Benny, for around 7 months, and during this time she took Loki to a trainer, gave him plenty of socialization opportunities, took him on lots of walks, and became his favorite cuddle buddy! Lisa fell in love with Loki, but her dog Benny didn't always love having another dog around, so she knew he couldn't stay forever.
Jenny Caudill Gowen and her family lost their sweet Labrador retriever, Bella, to cancer in April. The family was heart-broken and planned to wait until summer, or later, to find their next dog. Jenny found Loki on GRRAND's website and couldn't stop thinking about his sweet face, and how he seemed like the perfect dog for their family. "The day we met Loki, we knew he was the dog for us, that he was meant to be with us forever. I hate that he had to wait so long but I am so thankful he is ours. We are in complete love with Loki and shower him with love and attention every day." Jenny and Lisa stay in-touch and Loki still has lots of play dates with Benny.
GRRAND is so thankful that Loki has so many people that love him and that he has found his forever home!
