Hello, My Dears!
I’m happy to report that this has been a very quiet week. The power has remained on, the world has continued to spin, and every morning I took Travis for a walk and then sat down to write. In fact, I have finished the very last chapter of the first draft of Forget-Me-Not!
Whenever I finish a draft, I put it away for a while. In a month or three, I take it out again and make plans for revisions. With my quilt fiction, I have two very smart editors read it and offer suggestions for changes. One of my family’s mottos is, Everybody needs an editor. In my case, I need several.
Maybe as you’ve listened to Forget Me Not, you’ve thought, ‘This or that doesn’t ring true’ or ‘I don’t believe that’s something Florence (or Bess or Dorothy) would have said or thought.’ Please tell me! Some of you have told me, and I appreciate it so much.
This week’s episode of Forget-Me-Not features Dorothy, who has gotten plenty of feedback from Wallace, Ruth and others about how she should revise her life. She’s heard them, and she’s about to make some changes. I need to warn you about something that happens in this episode: I recite the Shabbat dinner Blessing of the Wine in Hebrew. I practiced many, many times before recording. I did my best. I’m not sure my best was brilliant.
There’s also an episode of Diary of a Mad Quilter for your listening pleasure! Thimble Pleasures is opening soon in downtown Milton Falls, and romance is in the air for Sheila! Wouldn’t it be fun if Sheila fell in love?
Next week, I’ll write more about what comes next in the Story Guild. For now, let me say thank you for listening and for supporting the Story Guild. It means a lot to me that you do.
