Hello, My Dears!
It’s a rainy morning as I write this, and I know as soon as I open the porch door to let Travis out, I’ll be hit by a gi-normous wave of humidity. Such is July in central North Carolina, and I’ve built my spiritual journey around accepting it as a gift. Still on that journey, but I’ll get there one day!
This week, as I approached page 300 of Forget-Me-Not (300!), I pondered the journey that each of the characters is on in 1934. Florence, I believe, is still finding her way as she prepares to move into her cozy little cottage on Orange Street. For the first time ever, she’ll be living in a home of her own, which with any luck will give her a chance to reflect on what she truly wants out of life (now that she’s decided what she doesn’t want–i.e. Arthur).
If you’re up-to-date with your listening, you’re expecting a new episode of Diary of Mad Quilter this week. Sadly, I’ve let you down. I had some big deadlines last week, and when I sat down this week to finish up Marnie’s diary entries for today, well … my brain just sputtered out. Although everything I publish here is a work-in-progress, I want it to be a well-polished WIP. So, you’ll have to wait until next week to get Marnie’s latest news about quilt shows and baby showers. This week, like my brain, she’s taking a nap.
