Hello, my dears!

This week we’re back in the sewing classroom with Eula. Do you remember Caroline Meacham from Friendship Album, 1933? She’s one of those students every teacher loves to have–friendly, a fast learner and a natural leader. I thought she’d assume more of a role in Forget Me Not, and maybe she will eventually. But in Chapter Six, I was surprised by a Mrs. Lena Weatherford showing up at the classroom door. I have a feeling she’s going to create some drama in our story!

One of the things that’s keeping me on my toes with Forget Me Not (aside from new characters showing up out of the blue) is that all of our five quilters are in flux. Businesses are expanding, people are changing jobs and weighing the wisdom of marriage (and remarriage). Grandbabies are soon to be born! Change in life is inevitable, which is good news for a novelist, since change keeps the plot thickening. Still, sometimes change feels discombobulating! When will things settle down?
