Hello, my dears!
I won’t spoil last week’s episode in case you haven’t listened yet, but I’m curious what you think about what transpired. Leave a comment on the episode page – let’s discuss!
Speaking of discussions, Mr. Dowell and I have long contemplated including discussion forums on the Quilt Fiction Story Guild website. I think this is something we’ll do eventually (and perhaps sooner rather than later). We’re still working out how to make the website as easy to navigate as possible. If you have suggestions or questions, please let us know!
A couple of listeners have picked up on small errors in both Forget Me Not and Diary of a Mad Quilter and emailed to inform me. Thank you! These stories are both works-in-progress, and I absolutely appreciate this kind of feedback. Don’t be shy – if something strikes you as incorrect, get in touch. I promise it won’t hurt my feelings!
In this week’s episode, we meet up with Emmeline – not for the first time, exactly, but it is her first solo chapter. Oh, Emmeline – she’s always so much fun to write about! I remember when I was first posting episodes of Friendship Album, 1933, and Emmeline was the character everyone loved to hate. But I hope that by the end of that story, everyone felt the same affection for her as I did (and do). Is she flawed? Extremely! Is she self-centered? Absolutely! Does she have a good heart? I think she really does.
These days, Emmeline is all about being a nationally prominent quilting columnist for the Farmer’s Wife. And for that, my dears, she needs the perfect hat. One must dress the part, after all!
Please stay in touch – whether it’s to let me know that you’re enjoying the story, or that you’ve picked up on an inconsistency or a factual error, or to make predictions for what happens next. I love hearing from you and really do appreciate your feedback!
See you next week!
xoFrances
P.S. Also, don’t let us hesitate if you’re having trouble finding something on the site. We (and by we, I mean Clifton) want you to find what you’re looking for as quickly and easily as possible!
