Hello, my dears!
Once again, this weekend will be bookended by stories. You can tune in today to Episode 4 of Friendship Album: Forget Me Not to catch up with Dorothy, and on Monday you’ll get the latest news from our new Milton Falls friend, Marnie Fetzer in Diary of a Mad Quilter. (I hope you’re enjoying the new story and cast of characters!)
The first episode of the new-fangled, updated Quilt Fiction podcast also drops this weekend. This month, I’m reading Marianne Fons’ short story, “Crazy Quilt,” and then talking with Marianne about her life as a writer and a quilter. (If you want to know more of Marianne’s life story, you can also watch the 2020 interview I did with her for the Quilt Alliance’s Story Bee program.)
Phew! That’s a lot of podcasts! More than one person has asked me how I do it all, and my answer is two-fold. One, I’m a project person and enjoy moving from this task to that one over the course of the day. Usually, I write in the morning, which leaves the afternoons open for podcasting, editing audio and other tasks.
Secondly, I have the wonderful Mr. Dowell by my side; he’s the one who does all the technical stuff as well as responds to your questions about subscriptions, how to use Bookfunnel and where to find episodes. The Story Guild wouldn’t happen without him.
I hope you enjoy today’s episode of Forget Me Not! Any story or chapter where Wallace Johnson makes an appearance is always going to be one of my favorites. In this chapter, Dorothy recalls something that Wallace has never let her forget, and let’s just say that it’s possible this incident came from my own life.
Thanks as always for your support. I couldn’t do this without you!
