This week we are highlighting LGBTQ+ charities. There are so many essential organisations across the world that support LGBTQ+ people and causes. Below are just a few that are driving change, creating safe spaces and empowering LGBTQ+ people. Please share any recommendations you have.
Stonewall fights for the rights of LGBTQ+ people, allies and families. They campaign to drive positive change in public attitudes and public policy. Donating to Stonewall supports their work in lobbying for policy changes and campaigns which support LGBTQ+ people throughout their lives.
Galop specialises in supporting LGBTQ+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence. They are a service run by LGBTQ+ people, for LGBTQ+ people. Donations help Galop to provide casework support and run their domestic abuse helpline.
MindOut is a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ+ people. They provide a range of services including counselling, peer support groups and peer mentoring projects.
Point Foundation is a US-based LGBTQ+ scholarship fund. Donations help provide financial support for scholarships as well as matching their students with mentors, and supporting internship opportunities.
Center for Black Equality aims to improve the lives of Black LGBTQ+ people globally. Donating directly supports the development of this global network and supports leaders, institutions and programs that directly impact the health, economic and social equities for LGBTQ+ people of African descent.
