Where I'm From
Where I'm From is a weekly Instagram Live show hosted by Alyson Shelton (that also posts to YouTube) where a guest shares their take on George Ella Lyon's Where I'm From poem and then Alyson and the guest chat for a bit about their writing experience and life. It's a weekly appointment for meaningful conversation and poetry.
This week for episode #66 I spoke to Kara Tatelbaum, author of the dance memoir, Putting My Heels Down. We spoke about the creative process, the differences and parallels between dance and writing.
Femme on Creatives with Pamela Ribon
Alyson and Pamela Ribon (screenwriter of Moana, Ralph Breaks the Internet, novelist, comic book writer, actor, all-around creative force) talk about the short animated film she wrote and created that is now shortlisted for an Oscar, My Year of Dicks. They laugh and also talk how Pamela’s body of work, and this film in particular, capture experiences almost all of us have and yet, it’s a rare thing to see a film about it. It’s a joyous and insightful conversation.
