Connecting Consumers to Producers.

FARMED Interactive Website Registration now available!

FARMED is pleased to share the news that the Connecting Consumers to Producers Interactive Website will be launched in the summer of 2023.

Are you involved in primary agricultural production in the North Cariboo? Or is your non-profit organization interested in supporting increased food security and food sovereignty in the North Cariboo?

Your business or organization is invited to participate with a listing on the FARMED Interactive Website to help the local consumer connect with your business or organization. There is no charge for a basic listing, and an extended listing to provide additional marketing information is available for an added charge. FARMED members should note, they will receive an extended listing at a reduced rate.

The deadline to register is June 5th, 2023.

FARMED Annual General Meeting & Social Networking Event

FARMED will be hosting its Annual General Meeting and a Social Networking Event on May 27, 2023 at 4pm at Moose Meadows Farm. The Annual General Meeting is scheduled from 4:30 - 5:00pm followed by a Social Networking event including a potluck dinner. All FARMED members and interested members of the public are welcome to attend and FARMED members are encouraged to consider holding a position on the Board of Directors.

FARMED is a collaborative organisation and Directors are well supported. Directors are key to supporting the vision of FARMED and its members and ensuring the goals of the organisation are met.

Whispering Pines Farm

Whispering Pines Farm started out in the 1980s with backgrounding calves for the feedlots in Alberta. Over time the farm slowly evolved from raising cattle to raising stock dogs and sheep. Owing to market opportunities and a lack of time, the tiny hodgepodge flock of hair and wool sheep has slowly evolved into a flock of primarily hair sheep.

At Whispering Pines Farm, we are dedicated to sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices that work best for the land and for the animals. The sheep graze acres of mix grass pasture from May to October and then tuck into the barnyard with locally grown, organic grass hay and grains. Lambing season starts in March and ends in mid-April.

Firefly Meadows Farm

Firefly Meadows Farm is a small hobby farm, owned by Paula & Marque Guilbeault-Roballo. Firefly Meadows Farm is looking to expand their production over time, and is currently growing baby chicks.

The FARMED Board of Directors are pleased to welcome Paula and Marque, who have been active participant in FARMED member meetings and the Opportunities 2022 & Beyond committee since joining FARMED.

KM Ranch

KM Ranch is located 20 minutes southwest of Quesnel, BC, and is owned/operated by Mike and Kristina. Mike brings over 20 years of knowledge and experience in working with cattle and manages the day-to-day operations on the ranch. Kristina looks after the record keeping, bookkeeping and sales.

KM Ranch provides beef (halves, wholes, mini-sides, lean ground beef) and lamb (whole lambs or live lambs) sales, as well as hay sales of 1400 to 1500-pound round bales, timothy mix.

Offering Farm Gate Plus Slaughter Establishment and Verified Beef Production Plus certification, the mission of KM Ranch is to raise healthy, strong animals from the start of life to end of life. This allows the provision of beef and lamb to the consumer, which is ethically cared for and raised with pride. Beef and lamb sales are year-round.

Little Mountain Quesnel

Little Mountain Quesnel owner Debbie Kishineff operates a small hobby farm specializing in freeze dried local and BC fruit & vegetables, candy, and treats. Little Mountain Quesnel sells their products at the Quesnel Farmers' Market and other select enterprises, regularly updated on their Facebook page.
