Hello Foodies! Here's a bit of an update about our activities in October. It's
been that kind of month. School. Kids. Holidays. Where did you go? What did you
see? Taste? Experience? Make sure to share in the Foodies in Switzerland Facebook
group.
Here is a summary of what's been going on at EdibleSwitzerland.
We planned for a Harvest dinner in the vineyards. We had it all ready! But
alas, it must have been the wrong date to entice you ... even though the
weather would have been PERFECT! With not enough signups to warrant renting the
winery space, we pivoted to a quiet, intimate chef's dinner.
Rolf came down from Suisse Allemand for the day. We enjoyed spending time with
him and understanding his sourcing and cooking philosophy. He teaches a course
called Food Geography at his school where the students learn about sustainable
food supply chains (a concept he has developed at each place he has worked
(including Japan, Shanghai, and Malaysia). He brought two cheeses he makes
with his students at school. He brought meringues he claims are the original
recipe of the original meringues made in Meiringen (their
namesake).
We shared an evening of conversations and stories. We were a mixed
crowd..sometimes that is exactly what you need to shake things up. It was a
lovely evening. I really enjoyed meeting everybody. And showing off our vintage
dinnerware (more on that below).
OUR 2022 BOOZY ADVENT CALENDAR
This year, we’ve teamed up with Yves Branchi of the Swiss Craft Spirits
Festival to create a special, limited edition of a very BOOZY Foodie advent
calendar. 25 days to discover 25 different artisan Swiss-produced spirits
including different gins, whiskies, rum liquors, fruit brandies, absinthe,
vodka, and vermouth. Each day will have a 2 cl bottle with a different spirit
inside. You’ll also find a wee story card about the craft distiller and where
to buy more. Even better---the cards are in ENGLISH 🙂 : a special effort I
made to help you understand the variety easier.
You have the option of buying just the contents and making your own calendar
with your own special packaging. Or for a small fee, I can assemble it for you
and all you have to do is hang it up! I have a limited supply and will be
taking orders until 21 Nov 2022.
PLANNING AN UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY PARTY FOR YOUR TEAM?
We've teamed up with professional leadership educator and facilitator
Jacqui
Coward to offer a veritable menu of team building experiences,
activities, and team
retreats retreats. Enjoy the season and festivities with your
team. Leave the logistics to us. Added bonus, Jacqui will add and
facilitate the intention of building stronger teams, no matter what fun
activitiy you choose.
We have started a list of team building
activities here, but it is by no means complete! Add more fun
like a snowshoe and chocolate workshop, a cocktail making class with maple
syrup, or learn to make the perfect espresso with a barista and coffee roaster.
... we're compiling them all!
Jacqui is an education and leadership professional, with a strong foundation in
developing leadership strategies, adult education programs, and assessing
corporate culture across a variety of diverse environments. She has
successfully built education and leadership programs in a variety of
organizations including non-profits, government, corporations, universities,
international schools, small businesses, and technology start-ups across a
range of industries and countries.
CAN WE HELP YOU HOST STYLISH AND SUSTAINABLE EVENT WITH A VINTAGE
FLAIR?
Are you planning a few festive events this year? Want to save time on washing
dishes? Maybe you don't have space to store larger party platters or drink
dispensers.
You can rent our vintage collections from our foodies dining events. It's not
official yet, but it's part of us helping people become zero-waste. We want to
make anything we use at our main events available for you to use so you don't
use disposable settings or don't have to buy bigger items yourself (like
charcuterie boards or drinking stations).
Also, if you work in a workplace that is planning to host an apéro or special
gathering this season AND you know they are planning to use disposables, feel
free to mention it to them too. We are really happy to help local enterprises
reduce & reuse.

about? Just hit reply and let me know.
See you soon!
Big fat foodie hugs,
