Another week, another batch of news from the product and tech world. Let's see what happened:
- It wouldn't be a week in tech in 2023 without a new AI feature being announced. Microsoft announced Copilot, an AI assistant built into all of their Microsoft 365 apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Considering this feature has been in GitHub for almost a year we think it's long overdue 🤷♂️
- Stripe raised money this week at a $50B valuation, down from a previous valuation of $95B 😬. While this certainly looks rough on the surface, we think it also could be a great time to apply to work at Stripe and get that sweet discount on your RSUs. They appear to have plenty of product jobs available 👀
- Speaking of valuations, Adept.ai (a company we previously tweeted about) just raised $350M at an un-finalized valuation expected to be >$1B. We'll be aiming to identify more of these opportunities to work somewhere before the valuation skyrockets going forward 🙏
- Coinbase's former CTO made a $1M bet on Twitter that the US is going to experience hyperinflation and Bitcoin will be worth $1M within the next 90 days. Is he crazy? Probably. Will his crazy claims actually happen? Only partly. Is there some truth to what he's saying? We think so. This guy has a pretty good track record with his wild predictions so it's worth paying attention 🤯
- United States Government vs... TikTok? TikTok's CEO will be testifying in court Thursday (3/23, already in the past by the time you're reading this) to try and defend TikTok as politicians continue to push for it to be banned. The real question if TikTok gets banned: Instagram Reels or Youtube Shorts? 🤔
