A New Year has started.  I hope you are doing better on your resolutions than I am.  ;-)   Before we get into what has happened so far in 2023, if you didn't see our review of all our accomplishments from 2022, check it out here.  Now, on to our news.

Today we take time to say THANK YOU.  Tanya Koneman is retiring as our Sponsorship Coordinator and moving on to the next thing in her life.

Tanya has been an integral part of True Impact since our inception. She was one of the original five founding members of our Board of Directors. Tanya was our original Sponsorship Coordinator until her recent “retirement”.  She has been an essential team member on no less than five mission trips to Uganda, putting her nursing skills to work in our village medical clinics.  And most importantly, she has loved, advocated for, and spent countless hours in prayer for the children in our program and the staff that care for them.  Thank you, Tanya, for your tireless dedication over the past 11 years!

With Tanya's departure, we would like to welcome Heather Stewart as our new Sponsorship Coordinator.  While relatively new to our ministry, she has demonstrated a love for the children.  She made her first trip with True Impact last March.

Hello True Impact family! I’m thrilled to work as Sponsorship Coordinator for the children, staff, ministry partners, and sponsors of our community. Children and women of varied histories and cultures have long been a true calling as I’ve been given the opportunity to serve, love, and teach through both my church communities and as a profession. Twenty-four years of working with and for children, families, and others who do the same, mostly in Germany and on Guam, was a gift. 

When I met Andy, his loving and enthusiastic introduction to True Impact revealed the good work the Lord does through this ministry. Finally, meeting so many of our children in Uganda in March 2022 was a thrill; their joy in Jesus, appreciation for their sponsors, and clear love for their sponsors was especially poignant. Thank you for being generous with your love, finances, and especially prayers.

Outside of True Impact, I get to enjoy time hiking, hanging, and traveling with my husband, Andy, and the one of our blended bunch (of six plus our granddaughter!) who still lives at home, Miguel. I enjoy playing outside, reading, cooking, live music, and time with family and friends.

I look forward to learning more about, connecting with, and praying for each of you in order to help facilitate meaningful connections between our children and sponsors. Please reach out anytime!

  We have two more things for you in this issue.  

First, Save The Date!  April 22 at 6pm is the date for this year's Spring Celebration.  We are still working out the details, but Margaret, our Ugandan Coordinator should be able to attend and perform for us.  Pray all goes well with her visa application and travel.  More details will be coming soon.

Second, we still need about $6,000 to finish the project to convert the old farmhouse into a Teacher's Dormitory.  Read below about the project and click the link to help us make it happen.

Salem Missions would like to turn this old farmhouse into a teacher's dormitory for Salem Christian School in Nakyenyi.  We need about $6,000 to complete updates to the buildings and build a new latrine. The latrine in the picture is not on our farmland and does not belong to us. Your donation will make a BIG IMPACT on supporting the school and the children we support at the school.
