And school should be out for the summer, but my kiddos decided to do “summer school” this year (aka, they go to the school to have fun instead of being stuck inside at home all day). Gotta say: I love it. The house is—mostly—quiet without the older kids fighting each other every few seconds because they’re bored. (I say “mostly” because there’s still the baby, and booooyyyyy, he can be LOUD!)
In other (writing) news: A book I’d put on the back burner is now making its way to the front again, alongside Long Time Gone. I’m officially (re)excited about this new one, and I can’t wait to tell you more about it when the time is right. I need to get Long Time Gone closer to finished before that time comes, but it WILL come!
OH! So I was scrolling through Facebook, as one does when bored at 3 in the morning because they can’t fall back asleep after the baby wakes them up, and I saw that there are people who SELL “novel templates”—aka, outlines for books that people pay for so they can write the book themselves! And I saw some costs go as high as, like, $200! It. Blew. My. Mind. I mean, there’s a market for any- and everything. I knew that. I know that. But for some reason, “novel templates” never crossed my mind before as something someone would sell. I think I chose the wrong career path! 🤪
In other, OTHER news: The USPS website is horrible, and I am not on speaking terms with it. |
