Welcome Pastor Joe Medley. Pastor Joe is recently retired from Fir Lawn Lutheran Church, Sweet Home, Oregon. Thank you, Pastor Joe, for bringing the Word to Christ the King this Sunday. May the seeds you plant find welcoming soil and ears to listen.
Singing This Week in Worship. There is rich history in the music we sing in worship. Each week we can read interesting background on the hymns, thanks to our director of music, Tim Ditch.
Second-quarter Giving Statements. Giving statements for the first half of 2023 (January 1–June 30) have been sent. If you have any questions about your statement, please contact Tim in the church office (503-639-2789 ext. 101). Thank you for your faithful giving to the ministries of Christ the King!
Still Looking for In-Person Technology Assistants. Pastor Dorothy will be away August 20 and September 10. Pastor Tom Struck will preach and preside both Sundays. You are invited to step in to greet him and assist him in preparing for worship.
Maybe you are one of those fearless folks willing to help with sanctuary set-up, assisting the pastor with microphones, and working with Tim to set up the Zoom Balcony—especially on the Sundays when Pastor Dorothy is away. You are invited to join the crew of tech assistants. It’s not as hard as it sounds. There are step-by-step instructions. It takes about 15 minutes between 9:30 and 9:45 on Sundays. Tim is on Zoom to help. Get in touch with Tim or Pastor Dorothy to sign up.
Parking Lot Guests. If you drive by the upper lot and notice an RV parked near the community gardens, you are meeting one of our overnight guests who are members of the travel website Harvest Host. Think of it as an AirBnB or Vrbo for RV travelers. Our guests stay only one night and make any size contribution to Christ the King through our website. There are about 10 reservations in place for July and August. If you see one of our guests, and are inclined to do so, please introduce yourself and welcome them to Tigard and Christ the King!
