The Grace Johnson Library. Are you aware of our Diversity Reading Nook in the Narthex? This is an annex to our larger library which is adjacent to the Rainbow Room. Please feel free to sit down in this cozy corner and explore the brand-new books which address racial equality and LGBTQIA themes. Find a book to take home with you to read! Check out is simple. Find the clipboard on the bookshelf. Write the date, the title of the book, and your name on the clipboard. When you return the book a few weeks later, simply draw a line through your writing on the clipboard. There is a treasure trove of good books here waiting to be discovered! —Ruth Cooley

Bonaventure Senior Living. Thanks to an invitation by our soon-to-be new members, Don and Judy Peterson, Pastor Dorothy and two Tigard pastor colleagues will begin offering Protestant Chapel for the residents of Bonaventure Tigard. If you know someone who lives at Bonaventure, invite them to participate in this weekly ecumenical service.
Social Media Update. The church’s front door is no longer limited to the fixed-address, brick and mortar door. The “real” front door of the church is virtual. We are long overdue launching into this virtual world. The response to the Advent podcast bears this out. But, we need assistance. We are looking for someone who is able to coach us in the use of social media. If you know someone who is social-media-savvy, or interested in becoming social-media-savvy, ask them to call Pastor Dorothy. It is one of the 21st-century methods of “go and tell.” |
