As we all know, wages have been fighting an unfair game against increasing inflation in today's economy. Higher costs and rising expenses call for bigger paychecks to sustain ourselves, so we're glad to hear of the expansion of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) amongst retail staff.
Speaking of progressive, there seems to be growing interest in local firms in hiring persons with disabilities (PWDs), and our recent #SocialHR Series on Embracing Diversity attracted professionals keen to engage with PWDs.
Can we improve inclusive hiring in Singapore? It was reported that in 2020 & 2021, the average resident employment for people with disabilities aged 15 to 64 was 30.1%.
I believe we can.
