SyNRGE believes the challenge of creating a self-sustaining food system that maintains fresh air, purifies water, and produces safe and nutritious foods for astronauts exploring the outer reaches of space has direct and meaningful impact to maintaining the and preserving the resources on Earth so it will feed generations to come.
As part of the challenge...
SyNRGE strives not only to tell the story of the past, but to be an agent of change for the future. Some of our recent activities and collaborations include:
- working with the University of Florida on exploring the growth of microbes in the extreme environments on the Surface of Mars.
- collaborating with the University of North Dakota and a NASA Deep Space Food Challenge finalists to demonstrate the feasibility of innovative ways of producing and processing food on our journey to the Moon, Mars and Beyond.
- developing a collaboration to launch experiments into space to understand the effects of cosmic radiation and microgravity on bioactivity of beneficial microorganisms.
SyNRGE believes that developing a strong network is key to a stable, sustainable infrastructure of healthy cooperation and collaboration between competitors.
We participate in the public and private dialogs that are recreating the future of agriculture. Look for us at the following meetings, reach out to us with a note or a call.
Together, we will grow plants in space and feed people on Earth. |
