Hi Michelle
I hope you are enjoying the cool days and clear skies that winter is bringing us this year.
As I write this, the news on the TV behind me is reporting on the devastating fires in Greece. El Nino has certainly made an impact this year, I’m no expert, however the parallels between climate change and over-tourism are starting to raise questions. As a travel management company on a daily basis, we are torn between promoting travel and asking if it is really necessary. Our team do their best to encourage travellers and organisers of study tours to visit a wider range of destinations that will positively benefit from tourism, but it’s not always that easy! Millions of us are drawn to a single flawless image that we see on social media, picturing ourselves in that location.
On our recent trip to Europe, we made a deliberate attempt to visit some of the lesser known parts of Europe and I’m pleased to report that there were many areas especially in the heart of Slovenia or high in the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain, where there were very few tourists and the experience was authentic. It’s hard to believe that it is 6 months since we moved offices and we are loving the environment of a co-working space. Feel free to get in touch if you want to learn more about the benefits it brings.
Thank you for your continued support and allowing my team to add value to your travel experience.
