Calling all writers!
The fourth writing session at Artspace on the Prom with Ben Cartwright will be on 4th September 5.30-7.30. Anyone who writes is welcome to join us for a focussed writing session and discussion with other writers. The sound of the sea always helps … and the inspiration of the artwork around us.

Post Petrochemical Practices
until Monday 21 August
This weekend is your last chance to catch this amazing exhibition from Sam Hodge, Geoff Litherland, Liz McGowan, and Yelena Popova, four artists who are making work with found materials and pigments. Finding and preparing their own materials creates a personal and physical link with particular environments for these artists, who are exploring ecological issues in a variety of ways.

Look Out
Ruth Butler
Thurs 24 until 28 Mon August
Ruth uses shapes and patterns found in both natural and man made forms, interested in the interaction between chance and control and our emotive response to colour.

Vanity Monsters
Craig Visser
31 August until 11 September
Landscape and still life have been common tropes for artists for centuries, and are still being exploited through social media, the food images and selfies against exotic backdrops that flood our feeds.

|
|

You are invited to the Private View on 2nd September at 4pm and to Craig's “Meet the Artist" talk on 7th at 4pm.

Pictures around Cromer
The National Gallery Collection will be coming down the first week in September; there is still time to look round and complete the survey to help us plan future exhibitions.
We are developing the concept of a loan scheme so that the pictures will remain on view somewhere - a village hall, doctor's space, school or other such place. Let us know if you have any contacts who could benefit from this: [email protected]

Volunteers’ Social and Opportunities
There is an opportunity for all volunteers to get together on 24th August from 2-4pm at the Community Hall in Cromer. Everyone involved in Cromer Artspace is a volunteer and we are always keen to have more people involved, so come along if you might be interested in helping in some way. We are looking for people to support our admin and finance team, and for people to help us with press releases, digital media and promotion.
