Elyse Noe
Phi (University of Kansas) ’19
Meet Elyse Noe, who has spent an exciting past year as Miss Kansas USA. We asked her to take a moment to reflect.
“The past year as Miss Kansas USA has been the most rewarding year of my life. I have traveled thousands and thousands of miles representing the beautiful state of Kansas, volunteering across the state, and impacting my community. I am proud to have represented Kansas as a Top 12 finalist at Miss USA with my dear Alpha Chi Omega sisters cheering me on in the audience. I am thankful for the strong bonds and friendships that I have made in Alpha Chi Omega that have inspired me to chase my dreams.”
Noe graduated with a degree in journalism from KU just one week after she won the title.
Same as Alpha Chi, her platform is domestic violence. She was a victim of childhood sexual abuse, and now she uses her advocacy to mentor young girls who have experienced similar trauma. “Part of my healing process is to talk about my experience with other people,” Noe said. “I’m really big on relationships, you know, just being open and being vulnerable.”
In the future, Elyse hopes to be an NFL sideline reporter. She has done boot camps with the Atlanta Falcons and the East West Shrine Bowl through the organization GALvanize, a media program dedicated to building confidence and sisterhood in women in sport, founded by KU alum and FOX Sports reporter Laura Okmin.
