Myanmar’s military has escalated attacks on schools run by anti-junta paramilitaries and ethnic armed groups in an attempt to enforce its education system on children, according to news sources. The number of attacks increased ahead of the start of this year’s school season on June 1.

Vietnamese authorities have reported that a previously banned church has reemerged in Vietnam's Thanh Hoa province after many years of inactivity. The church, known as Church of God the Mother, has reestablished itself with 16 service locations, primarily in Thanh Hoa City, and has attracted approximately 500 followers, as reported on the provincial police's website.

However, it is important to note that the teachings of this group diverge significantly from the principles of Christian theology. Former members and researchers have expressed concerns about the group's cult-like practices and the exertion of control over its members.

“Please pray for two families from the Chepang Tribe. Last month, there was an accident that caused their houses to burn down, completely destroying them. Our team recently went there to provide some food relief. Now the affected families will have to start all over again.”

*The Chepang tribe is an indigenous community in Nepal. They are one of the ethnic minority groups in the country, primarily residing in the rugged hills of central and western Nepal. The tribe faces various socio-economic challenges and struggles for recognition and access to basic resources and services.

China is currently facing a challenging situation as a record number of 13 million students participate in the national college entrance exam, known as the gaokao, amidst a severe job crisis. Many students and their families view the gaokao as a pathway to a better future.

Heavy rains have caused devastation in Pakistan's northwest regions, resulting in the collapse of houses and the tragic loss of at least 25 lives. Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Karak districts in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were particularly affected, with hail and heavy rain causing further damage. Extensive damage and injuries were reported.

As Bangladesh faces its longest heatwave in decades, a severe power crisis has exacerbated the situation, causing further distress for the people. With temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in Dhaka and reaching a record high of 41 degrees Celsius in Rangpur, tens of thousands of primary and secondary schools have been closed by the government. Unfortunately, the power crisis is expected to persist and potentially worsen due to the financial crisis.
