- There's a new contender for the most ironic company policy yet. Zoom, of all companies, just told its employees to return to the office 😭
- Twitter announced they'll be paying the legal bills of anyone who was 'unfairly treated' by an employer for their actions on the platform (posting, likes, etc.). As far as we know, this is a first in the tech/social media world and we'll be watching the results closely 👀
- In its quest to turn into the next "everything app", Twitter also announced it will soon be adding video calls to the platform, without needing a phone number 😳
- Spotify and Patreon are joining forces to allow listeners to access creators' subscriber-only Patreon content directly through the Spotify app if they are subscribed. What's to stop Spotify from eventually bringing the subscriber-only functionalities directly to its own app? Great question 🤷♂️
- Have you ever had to catch a rideshare somewhere, opened the app, and seen that its going to cost you $100 for a 20 minute ride? Well, good news! Lyft said this week that it wants to eliminate surge pricing. Their theory is that surge pricing suppresses demand from riders more than it incentivizes drivers and isn't as financially beneficial for the company as it would seem 🤔
- Your workday is about to undergo a little bit of a change (or potentially big) as Slack is doing a redesign of its user interface. Check it out here 🎨
