1. The big day is here: OpenAI has finally given ChatGPT full internet access. This will give ChatGPT the ability to give answers with live, up to date information from the web 👀
2. It wouldn't be a week in the tech world without Elon making a surprise product change at X. This time, they're adding a new $1 annual fee for any accounts that want to post on the platform. This is an interesting alternative to using phone number verification to prevent bots but we're interested to see how well it works 🔮
3. While the layoffs from early in the year have cooled off, we still aren't completely out of the woods yet. LinkedIn announced it would be laying off hundreds as it restructures its company to work on AI 😕
4. Spotify is getting into the e-commerce game as it adds a new merch hub to the app for artists to earn more on the platform. Its really a feature meant to distract from the small amounts many artists are making from streams on Spotify 🤷‍♂️
5. Meta has consolidated its options to manage your data into one place, as it aims to be better compliant with data practices in the EU. We suspect this type of data management page will become more common in tech products going forward 📈
